ABOUT US
Founded in 2002
RMIT Cricket Club also known as the RMIT Red Backs was the brainchild of John Thangarajah, Ahmed Sheikh and Shaylene Doonan from RMIT Union.
John Thangarajah and Ahmed Sheikh both played club cricket in Sri Lanka and Pakistan respectively.
Our major sponsor is the RMIT Union.
RMIT University Affiliation!!!
Throughout the year, the club participates in a number of events held at RMIT University. In recent years our club members have also had the priviledge of meeting and training with some International Cricketers.
However the RMIT Cricket Club is not just a University sports club, it is open to members of the community and other university students. We play Summer Cricket under the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association and Winter Cricket with the Mid Year Cricket Association.
A HISTORY OF SUCCESS
Since 2002 the Club has won 15 Premierships, we are a young, exciting and growing club with a great culture that revolves around development and success.
We are always on the lookout for players who enjoy cricket. No matter what level of cricket your at, RMITCC is dedicated to providing a place to enjoy and improve your skills of the game.
The Club also hosts a number of its own events like Awards Night and End Of Season Trips so theres plenty of fun and healthy banter throughout the year!
